Local residents are finding their inner artist. A laid-back “Paint like Bob Ross” session held by Paint with Pam. Hosted in and around Shinfield. The painting events are part of the borough’s growing arts scene, welcoming beginners eager to relax and create .

Pam, the friendly and encouraging host behind Paint with Pam, provides all the materials—paints, brushes, canvases—and apron protection, allowing guests to simply bring their creativity and a positive attitude. “No experience needed—just relax, create, and enjoy".

The community-centred events take place in in and around Shinfield with the next class set within the beautiful scenery at Dinton Pastures. Guests follow Pam’s step-by-step painting demonstrations—think iconic Bob Ross techniques like scenic mountains and fluffy clouds—while chatting and de-stressing in a warm, informal atmosphere. Organisers emphasised sanitised materials and a casual dress code: “wear what you don’t mind getting a bit of paint on”

Past participants praised the approachability of the class: “designed for beginners,” said Pam herself, “so you don’t need any experience.” Even those new to painting left with a sense of accomplishment—and a personal masterpiece to take home.

This Shinfield workshops build on a rich local arts tradition. In 2024, the parish council invited the public to share their views on a community art exhibition—plans that have blossomed into successful events like this one.

Meanwhile, the 2025 Shinfield Art Showcase featured 52 local artists, selling almost 50 artworks and raising over £3,600 for the parish arts fund.

As Shinfield’s creative spirit continues to bloom, Paint with Pam is offering locals a joyful, painterly way to connect—and maybe even discover a new hobby.

Note: Future workshops require ticket booking in advance. Keep an eye on www.paintwithpam.co.uk for dates and venues.
