Shinfield, Berkshire — Hundreds of residents turned out last weekend for the annual Maybank Christmas Lights switch-on in Shinfield, transforming the neighbourhood into a dazzling festive display and raising money for several local charities.

The much-loved community event, hosted by residents along Maybank, featured a show-stopping lighting setup that drew families from across the parish. This year, donations were collected in support of Firefighters & Share Shinfield, all of which play vital roles in supporting local people and emergency services.

One of the most exciting moments for young visitors was the arrival of a Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service fire engine, which pulled into the street with its lights flashing to join the celebrations. Firefighters chatted with families, posed for photos, and gave children the chance to take a closer look at the engine.

Organisers said they were thrilled with the turnout and community spirit.

The lights will continue to shine throughout December, with donation opportunities remaining open for those wishing to support the featured charities.
