Richard Chambers, a dedicated Spencers Wood resident is taking on an incredible year-long challenge — running a minimum of 5 kilometres every single day throughout 2025 — all to raise money for Hannah’s Appeal.

Having supported the charity for the past eight years, Richard has now launched “365 Days of Running for Reece”, a campaign aimed at raising awareness and vital funds for children and families affected by cancer.

You can follow his daily runs and progress on Instagram via 365 Days of Running for Reece where regular updates, route snapshots, and motivational posts are shared.

Donations can be made through the Local Giving fundraising page with every contribution helping to make a difference for children in need of support.

Living in Spencers Wood and working locally for David Cliff, a local Estate Agent company, Richard is also a proud parent of children who attend school locally in Shinfield, making this a truly community-rooted challenge.

"2025 will see me take on the challenge of running at least 5k everyday for 365 DAYS" FRom Richard's Fundraising Page "in memory of my son Reece and to raise funds for the incredible Hannah’s Appeal. Its been 7 years since we said goodbye but not a day goes by when I do not think about him. We had 14 amazing months when Reece was born before he was diagnosed with leukemia. After a long a brave battle he passed away a month before his 3rd birthday, a day that will always stay with me and a reminder of how fragile life is. With his 3 siblings to look after and a full time job this is going to be very tough, but I know I can do it with the courage and inspiration his memory gives me. If I am struggling some days all I need to do is think of him and I will keep going.

Hannah's appeal are an incredible charity that helped us open a holiday home in Reece’s memory a few years back. So what do they do? The charity offers free, luxury breaks at holiday homes for families with children who are seriously ill. The homes are located on family holiday parks in the New Forest and on Hayling Island. The parks have pools, restaurants, arcades, and clubhouses with entertainment teams. Most importantly they are within half hour drives from hospital for peace of mind for everyone. Everything has been thought about inside the holiday homes, Pam and her team do the most amazing work all year round to provide some comfort for families going through the most difficult times you could ever imagine

Please support me with a donation to keep me on track all the way to December 31st 2025"!
